Discover the beauty of Korean calligraphy through this immersive hands-on program.
In this one-day class, you’ll go beyond simply writing characters — you’ll combine traditional brush calligraphy with Korean painting. By drawing one of the “Four Gentlemen” (Plum Blossom, Orchid, Chrysanthemum, Bamboo) and adding calligraphy, you will create your very own art piece.
This program offers foreign visitors a chance to explore the depth of Korean traditional art while enjoying a relaxing, creative, and memorable experience during their journey.

1) 오리엔테이션 & 붓글씨 소개 (10분)
한국 서예와 전통 회화의 의미와 역사 간단 소개
오늘 체험할 매난국죽(梅蘭菊竹, Four Gentlemen) 작품 안내
붓, 먹, 한지 등 기본 도구 사용법 설명
2) 기본 붓놀림 연습 (10분)
획 긋기, 점 찍기 등 기초 붓놀림 실습
간단한 한자 또는 한국어 글자 연습 (예: “사랑”, “행복”)
3) 사군자 기초 그리기 (15분)
강사의 시범 후, 참가자들이 선택한 매화·난초·국화·대나무 중 1가지 연습
4) 작품 완성 – 서예+그림 접목 (20분)
참가자가 직접 선택한 사군자와 간단한 글귀(예: 평화, 희망, 행복)를 함께 완성

1) Orientation & Introduction to Calligraphy (10 min)
Brief introduction to Korean calligraphy and traditional painting
Explanation of today’s theme: Four Gentlemen (Plum, Orchid, Chrysanthemum, Bamboo)
Overview of tools (brush, ink, paper) and how to use them
2) Basic Brush Strokes Practice (10 min)
Hands-on practice: lines, dots, and simple brush movements
Try writing simple Korean or Chinese characters (e.g., “Love,” “Happiness”)
3) Four Gentlemen – Basic Painting (15 min)
Instructor demonstration of Plum, Orchid, Chrysanthemum, or Bamboo
Participants select one element and practice basic strokes and composition
4) Final Artwork Creation – Calligraphy + Painting (20 min)
Combine the chosen flower/plant with a meaningful phrase (e.g., Peace, Hope, Happiness)
